Welcome

Let’s get straight to it, how many times do we hear ‘I don’t care’, ‘It’s not my fault’ and ‘You can’t make me’? So let’s deal with this directly starting with:

‘You can’t make me’: You are right, we cannot make you, we just want to show you that there are alternatives and it’s up to you to make good or better decisions.

‘It’s not my fault’: It may not be your fault, however there will be things you are doing that are contributing to things being negative or ending badly.

‘I don’t care’: It is your life - you are important.  This often means I need some help.

Every pupil ends up at Bridge House because something has gone significantly wrong, or there are problems and issues.  It is going to take a little time to get everything back on track.  For us to be successful you will need drive; your parents may call this stubborn, moody or having an attitude.  You will need commitment; this is sometimes described as anger, pain or fear.  You will also need focus and aspiration above doing nothing and being a nobody – because you are a somebody, you do matter and you are important!

At our school we offer systems of support that will help you make progress inside and outside of the classroom. We hold regular reviews monitoring progress that gives you the strength and confidence required for transition into young adult life.

We achieve this through our broad and balanced curriculum with a mixture of; GCSE’s, vocational qualifications, functional skills, PSHE and independent careers advice and building the resilience required to become successful in; college, apprenticeship, further training or employment.

We share the Government’s objectives in helping pupils to develop and achieve more and we are fully committed to safeguarding.  Bridge House School offers KS3 and KS4 placements (12-16 years old, mixed gender) and provides emotional and behavioural support.

I hope you enjoy browsing our web site as it gives you an insight into who we are, and how we support pupils and help them to learn, make progress and achieve.
