Homework
Bridge House recognises that homework can be a valuable part of the school curriculum and is often an important means to raise a pupil’s self-esteem and promote independent learning, as well as to support work done in the classroom.
The school’s aim is for every pupil to complete homework on a regular basis.
The school aims to set high quality, consistent homework for all subjects on a regular basis. Students will be set homework on a termly basis, this will support their progress across the curriculum.
The school will support pupils with their homework during House Times, lunchtimes and after-school boosters.
The school views the support of parents/carers as very important to the effective use of homework. All parents/carers will be acquainted with the school’s homework policy and encouraged to support their child with homework.
Sanctions will not be given for the non-completion of homework. Instead, bonuses will be given for each completed piece of homework. Doing homework on a regular basis will also be the qualification for at least two of the six annual Reward Trips.
