Sensory Bus

In Autumn 2019 we had the exciting opportunity to go on the sensory bus. This was a converted bus that came to school with fun sensory activities, allowing the children to explore different sounds, textures and colours. The first theme on the sensory bus was the ocean. The children could play with bubble lights, watch fairy rainbow lights and explore sounds through sound buttons. The children also discovered different games using different textured balls and bean bags. The vibrating pillows and snake were a hit. The touch pad musical system pleased many of the children. The second theme of the sensory bus was Halloween. The bus was decorated with spider webs, ghostly creatures and brightly coloured pumpkin. The children explored their sound sense with spooky music.

Miss Scoot

In Spring 2020, Cranwell class won the House Effort Score competition! As our reward, we went to Boston Bowl for a game of Bowling. It was a really close score! As all of Cranwell had also achieved their Me Rewards, we also collected our McDonalds on the way back to school. We had amazing behaviour so Mrs Ellerby even bought us a McFlurry as a treat- it was an amazing day!

On 14th October 2019 a visit from Zoolab provided our pupils with an exciting and knowledgeable experience. They had a lot of fun learning about different animals and their habitats. Some of these included rats, cockroaches and tarantulas – some children even held and petted the animals! We are looking forward to them returning to school soon.

Frampton Marsh

In Summer 2019, Cranwell class visited Frampton Marsh – a local wildlife reserve. Children used binoculars to spot birds throughout the reserve. They walked around the reserve- it was quite a trek! We had a picnic outside in the sun which was really yummy. The day was finished off with a really delicious ice cream before returning to school.

Lincolnshire Wildlife Park

On the 15th of July 2019, Scampton Class went on a trip to the Lincolnshire Wildlife Park as an end of term treat. The children had a fantastic day looking at all of the animals including tigers, parrots, tapir and meerkats. The children especially enjoyed talking to the parrots and were really excited when they talked back. We had a picnic for lunch and the children all got to choose an ice cream. After lunch we went to a local park to play before returning to school.

World Book Day

Last year for World Book Day the children of Bridge House took part in a challenge to read in the funniest places. The children chose to read under the tables, in a den, inside the tyres and in the sand pit. In the afternoon we all dressed up as our favourite book characters and acted out scenes from the books.

On the 5th March 2020, children celebrated World Book Day again. We came in and spent the day in our pyjamas reading our favourite stories. We even had a teddy bear picnic for our lunch!
